International Seminary Student Committee
The International Seminary Student Committee works to facilitate and coordinate the needs of international seminary students during their stay in the United States.
FUNCTIONS
- Responsibility #1: residence, apartment, travel, transportation, etc.
- Responsibility #2: financial needs (with assistance from Grace RPC).
- Responsibility #3: integration into the life of the congregation.
2010 MINISTRY RECAP
- Our student completed his internship with the North Hills congregation and graduated from the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree in May.
- As their time for departure drew near, the congregation recognized the family’s time with us both through a Sabbath fellowship luncheon in June and through a special lunch in honor of the student’s wife hosted by the Thursday morning Women’s Bible Study.
- In July, the Reformed Presbyterian Church of the North Hills sent the family home to Kenya after living and worshipping among us for almost three years. Several members from the church drove from Laurelville for final goodbyes at the airport.
- The student was to learn of his next assignment from his denomination upon returning to Kenya. As our congregation continued to wait upon news of this assignment, information came to light that perhaps the family had returned to the United States. Multiple attempts have been made through the denomination and the family for additional information but have not resulted in concrete information.
2011 PREVIEW / SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
- Funding for another international seminary student is not included in the 2011 budget and the committee is not currently discussing future plans.
