Deacon Board

  • Support the work and vision of the Session
  • Maintain an active ministry of stewardship of Congregational assets and finances
  • Maintain an active ministry of mercy to the congregation first and then the community
  • Lead the congregation in discerning mercy needs

  • Welcomed two new members.  We are thankful for their input, wisdom, and service.
  • Adjusted our approach to the disbursement of Christian Education and Family Conference scholarships to be based primarily on financial need.
  • Mercy Ministry: Nearly $10,700 in mercy gifts went mostly to members of the congregation as well as some within the community.
  • Cooked and served for the Andrew Outreach Dinner.
  • Continued work on practically addressing the physical needs of the most vulnerable members of the congregation
  • Organized two work days at the church to care for our building and grounds

  • We would like to promote more visible and intentional support for Izzi Elliott, a member who is serving as medical missionary in Gabon, Africa.
  • We are committed to meeting the mercy needs of our members, adherents and the community (where appropriate), so please help us by identifying needs of which we might not be aware.
  • The Deacons are entertaining an offer by a neighboring property owner to purchase a small piece of property on the other side of Thompson Run creek.
  • In an effort to be good stewards of our assets, the Deacons will be actively moving forward with a parking lot restoration project that will include new asphalt in the current gravel area. 2017 will be used to pull together the remainder of the full design and begin a capital campaign as a congregation, in order to be able to begin construction in 2018, Lord willing.
  • Please pray for the Deacons and, most importantly, pray about how the Lord may use you in helping to meet some of the needs expressed above.
