Oct 13 – RPTS Strike the Match Ends

When you add about thirty new students to your campus, many of them internationals with their families, things are likely to get a bit exciting. That is exactly what the first month has been like at RPTS this fall. Near record enrollment will be followed, Lord willing, by nearly record graduation in May. God is doing amazing things at the Seminary as our students are studying and serving from all over the globe. Our students are from Japan, Korea, China, Australia, Canada, Pakistan, India, and many different States.

You help to make this possible! Your prayers and financial support help to bring all the corners of the earth to Pittsburgh. Thank you so very much for this.

You may also recall that Fall brings another special event in the life of the Seminary, Strike the Match. This year our gift match campaign will be from October 9 to 13, 2017. Gifts received in this time frame (checks, cash, and credit cards) will be eligible for a match of fifty cents to the dollar. Your gift of $100 will be matched with a gift of $50 from our gift pool of $80,000.

Also this year, something else is happening. You may be aware of the Save the Gables Campaign. This comprehensive project is to help RPTS raise funds necessary to replace the roof, restore the gable ends, refurbish and remodel the basement and kitchen, and establish an endowment to address unexpected facility issues in the future. Click here for more information about Save the Gables. We are about half way toward reaching the $3 million goal.

Donations for the Gables qualify for Strike the Match, a double blessing to the Seminary.

This will be a busy year of transition as Dr. O’Neill prepares to retire at the end of June, 2018. By the way, on April 20, 2018, we are planning an evening of celebration of the Lord’s working through the several decades of Jerry O’Neill’s ministry at RPTS. You are invited to attend this event in Pittsburgh. Dr. Barry York becomes President on July 1, 2018. The transition is already taking place and Jerry would note that he would love to have the Save the Gables campaign finished by the time he retires.

This work is impossible without your prayers and support. Thank you for helping the Seminary to continue its kingdom work as we head into our 208th year of ministry.
